Becoming a Member:
Business networking requires commitment.
One element of this
commitment is the financial investment you make to join BNI. Although the
initial investment is not significant, it is a symbol of a company's or an
individual's commitment to embrace the BNI system.
The investment to join BNI consists of a registration fee, plus a participation fee.
If you wish to participate in BNI, you may complete an application and submit it the chapter treasurer, along with payment. A new member application is reviewed by the chapter's Membership Committee, and the prospective member is notified of the application status as soon as possible.
Tracy Business Partners members also pay a room fee in order to cover the cost of the meeting place. These charges are separate, and in addition to the investment of joining BNI.Where does the Money go?
Your registration and participation fees support the infrastructure of BNI and insures that you and Tracy Business Partners are getting the most out of your investment.
BNI Polices
Business networking requires commitment, not obligation. Tracy Business Partners is a successful chapter of BNI because our members are sincerely committed to helping one another through networking. We are a team! As a participant in BNI and the Tracy Business Partners, you are responsible for complying with the policies and guidelines of the organization. A partial list of BNI policies is below:
- Only one person from any professional specialty is permitted to join each chapter of BNI.
- An individual member may only represent one business category in a BNI chapter, regardless of the scope the member's company.
- All members meet weekly for 90 minutes.
- Participants represent their primary occupation.
- An individual may be a member of one chapter only. A company may have individuals representing them in several chapters.
- If you cannot attend a weekly meeting, you may send a substitute and/or visitor. This will not count as an absence. Participants are allowed 3 absences every 6 months. More absences than this and they are subject to their classification being reopened.
- Participation in the chapter by members is a key to the success of a group. Members can participate by bringing bone-fide referrals and/or visitors to their chapter.
- You may not join a BNI chapter if you are a current member of a "tight networking group"**
For more information contact Tracy Business Partners at (209) 229-1086
**A tight networking group is defined as one which requires the following of its membership:
- Members are expected to find business referrals for other members.
- Only one person from any professional specialty is permitted to join a individual group/club/chapter.
BNI is a professional business networking organization that promotes,
teaches and educates you in the process of effective referrals. We are able to
do this in each chapter by having an exclusive membership—we allow only one
person per business profession to join a given chapter. This prevents internal
competition, giving you the best opportunity to establish strong relationships
and build business in the most successful way—by word of mouth.
